Melissa was born and raised on the South Coast and has a wealth of local knowledge to share with clients, together with her background in property management and more recently Strata Management. As a Licencee for South Coast Property Specialists and one few Strata Managers in the South Coast region, Melissa brings an important, unique level of expertise to our ever expanding Strata Management portfolio.
Melissa’s formal accreditation in Strata Management, a Certificate IV in Property Services, several years of studying law at university and her working knowledge of the Property and Stock Agents Act 2002 allow her to provide a valuable resource to ensure that all work for strata clients is compliant.
At a personal level Melissa is outgoing and uses her interpersonal skills to build networks locally and beyond, and to easily manage the significant part of her role that involves formal and informal interactions. This includes when chairing AGMs and other meetings required for strata clients, liaising with solicitors and property owners, negotiating disputes, coordinating project and actioning meeting outcomes.
Early in her real estate career Melissa trained and became a successful Licensed Auctioneer. While this is not a primary part of her role with the company now that she manages our strata portfolio, some of her career highlights relate to selling a property under the hammer and seeing the positive impact that her work has on clients. In the office she aims is to build a culture of laughing, sharing problems with colleagues over a meal and recognising everyone’s achievements.
In her spare time Melissa loves to be creative and taking time to do special things with her family. This includes teaching her children craft and making costumes for their book parades, feeding the chooks on her family’s small farm, and planning home renovation projects with her husband. Oh, and she is also a mad Harry Potter fan!
